BID23 - The Fourth Edition (2023)
"Respirare con il mondo / Breathing with the World"
BID23 investigates the relationship between art and life, inspired by the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke. The exhibition celebrates the transformative capacity of art, exploring the connection between the visible and the invisible, the social and the natural. Artists from all over the world confront each other in an open dialogue, reinforcing BID's identity as a place for artistic exchange and growth.
BID21 - The Third Edition (2021)
“Trasformazioni Silenziose / Silent Transformations”
Organised at a time of global uncertainty due to the pandemic, BID21 takes an innovative approach, integrating digital to ensure maximum accessibility. The exhibition's central theme explores artistic reflections on lockdown and the human condition, welcoming works that address the relationship between women and nature, as well as ecofeminism and climate change. The event is dedicated to the memory of curator Barbara Fornasir, who passed away prematurely in 2019.
BID19 - The Second Edition (2019)
SECOND EDITION OF BIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S EXHIBITION
With growing popularity, BID19 expands the international scope of the event, hosting artists from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. The event is inaugurated by Princess Gabriela von Habsburg, witness to the Biennale's prestigious evolution. Despite the limited opening on weekends, the attendance exceeds 8,000, confirming the interest of the public and institutions.
BID17 - The First Edition (2017)
FIRST EDITION OF BIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S EXHIBITION
The first edition of the BID came to life with enthusiasm and speed, thanks to the determination of a group of visionary women. Launched on 25 November 2017, on the occasion of the International Day Against Violence Against Women, the exhibition stands out for its international participation and a catalogue produced in record time. The event attracts a large audience, confirming the success of the initiative and its importance in the Trieste art scene.
