Breathing

Bettina’s series of new paintings contain the theme: "Breathe". After 3 years of pandemic, lockdowns and the associated fears, feelings of loneliness, social distancing and isolation, we can clearly feel the newly gained freedom again. Although we have to face new challenges such as war, inflation and climate crisis, we can breathe freely again, meet each other in the real world and hope for a common future. Her artwork is characterized by strong gestures, expressive shaping and intense colouring. The shown works are a kind of exception due to the 3 years pandemic. The traumatic events of this time have not only abruptly interrupted her personal life, but also my artwork and placed it in new frame of Reference.
She experienced perplexingly observing a world completely out of joint. People who are irrationally distorted, acting like drugs in a parallel world, like a distorted nightmare
world. From an initial rigidity, an inner fantasy world has also developed with me, which
distorts and reproduces the familiar as if under a kaleidoscope. The works were developed
with Procreate and then printed behind acrylic glass, laminated with Dipond.
