Riccarda de Eccher (1954) was born in Bolzano, and when she was ten years old, her family moved to Friuli Venezia Giulia. At the age of eigh teen, her longing for the mountains led her to enroll in a rock climbing course, and she began exploring the Carnic Alps, the Julia nAlps, and her beloved Dolomites. She embraced painting later in life and chose the medium of watercolor, in part because of its portability, making it suitable for painting in the mountains. In 2006, she exhibited her work for the first time at the Sovilla bookstore in Cortina. This was followed by various exhibitions, both inEurope (Italy, France, England, Slovenia) and in the United States. She has also published small books resulting from collaborations with writers.
