Translated texts by Syrian poets Hamed Abboud, Omar Khir Alanam, Maram al-Masri, Aboud Saed, Palestinian poet Mahmud Darwish, and Iranian poet Mohamad Mashghost Sabine’s work includes objects, sculptures, graphics, landscape and spatial interventions, and performances. The artist deals with themes of rupture, trace, and sign, and their membranous or palimpsestic overlap with transparent materials, as well as their fragmentation. Writing becomes a metaphor for communication and fragmentation. The loss of readability allows writing to become visible in its pure visuality and mystery. The poetics of refugees, that is written in a transparent acrylic layer, float above the waters of the sea, connecting the space of passage, of escape with the spaces of their uncertain origins and those of longing: the safe new countries of arrival. The sea, the land and the sky are breathing together in one poetic rhythm.
